Total time
: Dessert
  • For 6-8 little jar:
  • 500 ml of whipping cream
  • 2 ½ teaspoons of powdered gelatin (or 2 gelatin sheets *)
  • 2 ½ tablespoons of table sugar
  • 2 cups of hot espresso
  • To decorate: 150 ml of whipping cream
  • ½ tablespoon of white sugar
  • Dark chocolate
  1. In a small bowl melt the gelatin with 3 tablespoons of lukewarm water and set it aside;
  2. In a larger bowl melt the sugar into coffee stirring;
  3. Add in the gelatin and stir it with a whisk until the gelatin is completely dissolved in the coffee;
  4. Add the cream and stir well with the whisk until the mixture is homogeneous;
  5. Pour the panna cotta liquid mix in the small pots;
  6. Cover with plastic paper and keep it refrigerate for 3 hours or more **;
  7. In the meantime make the chocolate Christmas trees by melting some chocolate in a double boiler;
  8. Put the melted chocolate into a pastry bag with a very thin spout (I used a syringe without needle) and draw your Christmas trees on a piece parchment (or wax) paper;
  9. Put the trees in the freezer and take them out only 5 minutes before serving the panna cotta;
  10. In another bowl whip the cream with the sugar;
  11. Drop a good spoonful of whipped cream on each panna cotta pot and garnish with the chocolate trees.
